Education for disasters:
more than twenty years after the flood in the Apuan Alps


Cardoso-Seravezza, 17th June 2017

 

     

The 2017 edition is divided into two sections during the morning and it is completely dedicated to "Education for natural disasters". The first one takes place at Cardoso of Stazzema, in the epicentre of the flood occurred twenty-one years ago. The programme proposes here the presentation of the educational book “Rains & Ruins in the Apuan Alps: the 1996 flood between Versilia and Garfagnana”.
The second section of ApuanGeoDay 2017 is hosted in Rossetti Palace at Seravezza. The programme proposes here the opening of the new Park Visitor Centre and a guided tour for the educational exhibition “Rains & Ruins: twenty years ago in the Apuan Alps”.

The location of the first section is at Cardoso of Stazzema, inside Culture Palace.

Palazzo Rossetti is ready for the inauguration of the new Park Visitor Centre in Seravezza.

 


 

UNESCO representative and Seravezza mayor cut together the inauguration ribbon.

 

 

 


 

The visit starts from the reception room of the new Park Visitor Centre.
